Employee Resource Groups

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) bring together passionate SLAC employees to build community and drive initiatives at the lab.

Currently Active SLAC ERGs:

  • Committee for Outreach, Recruiting & Engagement of Ethnic Minorities (CORE)
  • Women@SLAC
  • LGBT@SLAC
  • Military Veteran Allies and Advocates@SLAC (MAA)

Each group is sponsored by a member(s) of the senior management team who personally support each group to help drive ERG initiatives at the lab.

Some Recent ERG Efforts Include:

  • Driving change to a revised Telecommute / Flexible Workplace Policy
  • Bringing a weeklong summer science institute via the Green Scholar Program to SLAC to help underrepresented high school students develop science skills
  • Representing SLAC at National Lab Career Days, Howard University Career Fairs, Women in STEM events and other diversity recruiting initiatives
  • Developing a program to help employees grow their careers through mentorship
  • Connecting new employees with ERG members and other employees at the lab to improve the new hire experience
  • Creating a new internal communications initiative featuring the unique stories of employees at the lab
  • And much more…
